The school sees dance as a tool to encourage self confidence, increase energy and promote self discipline. By building on these foundations, classes are set at a high standard whilst emphasising the enjoyment of dance.
The Beaconsfield School of Dance is built around the premise that through dance, children and adults can improve co-ordination, balance, core strength and postural awareness; and develop the ability to translate these into every day life with poise and grace. There is an emphasis in the classes of being creative, nurturing and fun whilst being structured and in a highly professional environment.
Miss Fiona believes anyone who wants to dance should fulfil this desire no matter their age, size or ability. People underestimate the joy and enhanced self-esteem dance can bring to their lives – not to mention all the positive health benefits!
A variety of classes are offered from pre-school beginner ballet to adult classes. Children’s ballet classes follow the syllabi of the Royal Academy of Dance which is at the forefront of ballet teaching. The syllabi and standards produced from their work are recognised Internationally being one of the largest and most influential dance education bodies.
When pupils are ready they are given every opportunity and encouragement to take Royal Academy of Dance examinations or assessments to further develop their formal progression throughout the year.
