Darren Massey

Jazz and musical theatre teacher

Darren’s formal training began at the Jackie Palmer Stage School and Agency. He partook in weekly classes in Tap, Modern and Ballet achieving Intermediate level before undertaking further training to become a fully qualified teacher with the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) and licensed Children’s chaperone.

Darren was fortunate to be given the opportunity of not only performing in theatre, TV and film productions, but also later career chaperoning children in a diverse number of high profile productions. Provideding him with a valuable insight into high standards required to achieve success in the industry.

Despite enjoying performing, Darren came to realise that teaching was where his talent and passion lay, guiding and developing young performers to become accomplished enough to explore dance as a career provided him with much more satisfaction then performing himself.

Pupil Testimonials

A kind and caring teacher

I have been going to Miss Fiona’s class for 3 years now. I believe I can achieve anything as she pushes us forward, makes us work hard, but gives us a lot of fun. Miss Fiona is a kind and caring teacher and she always believes in you and thinks you can do more than you think you can. I especially love her dance workshops as it teaches us lots of new skills but is also loads of fun

Inspirational and professional teacher

Fiona’s adult ballet classes are a great and fun way to workout, whatever your level of dance. You get to strengthen those all-important core muscles, improve your posture and overall flexibility, all through a combination of barre work and center work. Fiona is a motivational, inspirational and professional teacher, who has endless patience and makes every lesson enjoyable in a non-competitive way.

What a wonderful discovery!

The perfect ballet class for adults, whether or not they have danced before. Miss Fiona is an excellent teacher who enables each pupil to maximise potential through her superb demonstration of dance, in combination with clear and imaginative instruction. Above all, she conveys the sheer joy of dancing. Having returned to ballet with Fiona 5 years ago, after a break of nearly 40 years, I am amazed that she has enabled me to continue to improve my technique and to increase my flexibility. I intend to continue with my ballet classes for as long as possible because they have become an integral part of my physical and psychological well-being.
